Today we remember Saint Junípero Serra (November 24, 1713 – August 28, 1784). He was a Spanish Catholic priest and missionary of the Franciscan Order. Father Serra had a motto which inspired his life and work, not just a saying, but above all a reality which shaped the way he lived: ¡siempre adelante! Keep moving forward! Congratulations to Our Newly Confirmed! Today, our parish family at Sacred Heart and Immaculate Conception rejoices with deep gratitude as twenty of our young people received the Sacrament of Confirmation at the 2:00 PM Mass, celebrated with Archbishop Thomas Zinkula. After a year of prayerful preparation, they have been sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit, a moment of grace that strengthens them for a life of faithful discipleship.
