A Pastorate Challenge: We Need You as We Become Bethany Together
On Wednesday of this week we celebrated the Memorial of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. The Gospel tells us that Jesus found a special home in Bethany with Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. There He was welcomed, loved, listened to, and supported. Each of them lived their faith in a unique way. Martha served. Mary listened and learned. Lazarus witnessed to the life-changing power of Christ. As our pastorate continues to grow together, I believe God is calling us to become a modern-day Bethany. We are not simply maintaining parishes. We are building a community of disciples united in Christ's mission.…

We have arrived at the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence! This is a glorious day for our nation, as we mark two and a half centuries of freedom and independence. What is a pastorate?
A pastorate is a grouping of parishes with one pastorate that shares resources, ministries, programs, and staff. The Oelwein Pastorate is currently named that way because Sacred Heart is the largest parish in the pastorate. In the next year or two, the parishes in our pastorate will canonically merged into one parish.
